The Aluminium tubes are extruded on site using two possible methods one is seamless extrusion and porthole extrusion. These Aluminium tubes have high corrosion resistance and is commonly used for outdoor structural applications such as Aluminum Tube railings and trims. High-strength Aluminium tube can be used in aerospace applications.
There are 2 types of Aluminium Tube:
1) Aluminium Extruded Tube: Aluminium Extruded Tube, formed by hot extruding through a die, is available as a seamless or structural grade product.
2) Aluminium Drawn Tube: Aluminium Drawn Tube is a seamless extruded Tube is brought to final size by drawing through a die.

This specification covers aluminum and aluminum-alloy drawn seamless Tube in straight lengths and coils for general purpose.
1.1 This specification covers aluminum and aluminum-alloy drawn seamless Tube in straight lengths and coils for general purpose and pressure applications in alloys (Note 2), tempers, and thicknesses shown in Table 2. Coiled Tube are generally available only as round Tube with a wall thickness not exceeding 0.083 in. and only in nonheat-treatable alloys.
1.2 Alloy and temper designations are in accordance with ANSI H35.1/H35.1(M). The equivalent Unified Numbering System alloy designations are those of Table 1 preceded by A9, for example, A91100 for aluminum designation 1100 in accordance with Practice E527.
Note 1-See Specification B483/B483M for aluminum-alloy drawn Tube for general purpose applications; Specification B234 for aluminum-alloy drawn seamless Tube for condensers and heat exchangers; and Specification B241/B241M for aluminum-alloy seamless pipe and seamless extruded Tube.
Note 2-Throughout this specification, use of the term alloy in the general sense includes aluminum as well as aluminum alloy.

Heat Treating T Temper Codes for Aluminium Tube
- T1 – Cooled from an elevated temperature shaping process and naturally aged to a substantially stable condition.
- T2 – Cooled from an elevated temperature shaping process, cold worked, and naturally aged to a substantially stable condition.
- T3 – Solution heat treated, cold worked, and naturally aged to a substantially stable condition.
- T4 – Solution heat treated, and naturally aged to a substantially stable condition.
- T5 – Cooled from an elevated temperature shaping process then artificially aged.
- T6 – Solution heat treated then artificially aged.
- T7 – Solution heat treated then overaged/stabilized.
- T8 – Solution heat treated, cold worked, then artificially aged.
- T9 – Solution heat treated, artificially aged, then cold worked.
- T10 – Cooled from an elevated temperature shaping process, cold worked, then artificially aged.
Additional digits may be used after the first T temper digit to indicate subsequent stress relieving by processes such as stretching, compressing, or a combination.
H Temper Strain Hardening Codes for Aluminium Tube
- H1 – Strain hardened only
- H2 – Strain hardened and partially annealed
- H3 – Strain hardened and stabilized
- H4 – Strain hardened and lacquered or painted. This assumes that thermal affects from the coating process affect the strain hardening; seldom encountered.
