Nickel 201 Pipe offer corrosion resistance in reducing and neutral media as well as in oxidizing atmospheres provided that the oxidizing media allows the formation of a passive oxide film. When operating temperatures are expected to exceed 600°F, carbon content becomes critical of Nickel 201 Seamless Pipe. The lower carbon content of Nickel 201 Welded Pipe makes the material resistant to graphitization and therefore less subject to embrittlement. Nickel 201 ERW Pipe is designated as UNS N02201 and Werkstoff Number 2.4068. It is preferred to SCH40 Nickel 201 Pipe for applications involving exposure to temperatures above 600°F (315°C).
